Cars for a Cure: Morgan Adams Concours D’Elegance

The ninth annual Morgan Adams Concours D’Elegance was held on August 27, at the Centennial Airport. Boasting classic rare automobiles to fighter planes from World War II, everything had one sole purpose, which was to raise money for the Morgan Adams Foundation, a foundation dedicated to pediatric cancer.

Bringing in over 1300 attendees, this charity fundraiser also brings in some of the finest car collections in the state. Arriving to World War II fighter planes swooping above and the unmistakable roar of Ducatis, BMWs and a certain Vincent motorcycle, the event created an atmosphere that rivaled some of the biggest fundraisers in the country. Private collections of the affluent were displayed for all to appreciate. Collections of Morgan’s to Bugattis, each brought an array of cars that exhibited flawless and timeless designs, one of which was the 1931 Bugatti T-40 A Roadster. Defining elegance and prestige, Bugatti’s carry a reputation that could be seen decades later with the T-40 A Roadster at the Morgan Adams fundraiser. Italian craftsmanship was the certain point for the automobiles at the event. Proudly displaying its heritage, Ferrari had everything from a new 458 Italia, to the beautifully crafted 1950 GT Coupe. Throughout the event you could see how Ferrari has evolved with the different years and styles.

Along with amazing Italian and European cars on display the event also included cuisine and beverages from various vendors from around the state. If the exquisite cars and fighter planes did not grab our attention, both live and silent auctions were hosted. The auctions were held along with the event to help raise more money for the charity. Auctioning off trips to relaxing destinations and other memorabilia, a specific framed piece of work, which illustrated the various badges and emblems of some of the most rare cars in the world caught the eye of many car enthusiasts. As the auctions progressed the crowds around the exotic cars thinned out giving other enthusiasts the perfect chance to take a closer look at some of the finest automobiles on the planet.

Ferrari of Denver executed an elegant presentation of their most prestigious showcase of cars. Included in their presentation were all brands they carry, Lotus, Bentley and Ferrari. Ferrari of Denver brought a special treat for everyone in the form of a 2010 Lotus Esprit Turbo Special edition. Along with this special treat, they brought an array of Bentleys ranging from the Arnage to the Continental Super Sport Convertible. Ferrari of Denver was not the only organization that helped with raising money for the charity.

The Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin clubs, joined to display some of the best cars around. This enthusiasm to join the event shows how strong the community supports this event. Since the creation of this event, the foundation has raised over one million dollars. Every year the event grows stronger and bigger making it one of the signature fundraisers Colorado has to offer and one not to miss.
